Read the effect before filling an empty cell
The observed Sun Claw description identifies a burn target using a directional marker. Chosen’s Necklace has multiple pointed targets. These are operational parts of a layout, not decorative rarity icons. Move an ordinary relic into such a position only if that is the effect you intend.
Separate a held preview from a placed relic
A card lifted over a slot and its highlighted target positions show the placement being considered. Confirm the intended position, then inspect the resulting grid. The footage includes repeated rearrangements, so one hovered screenshot alone is not a completed effect.
Arrange a row around a clear condition
For The Song of Welcome example, place the intended receiving relics in the same row and use the qualifying Corner position shown by the game. Before confirmation, the receiving row contains Quality 4, 2, 6 and 4; after the effect they read 8, 6, 10 and 8 with Armor markings.
Recheck before leaving the loot screen
Verify the carried items are in the left grid, that the intended targets still exist and that their Quality or protection state changed as expected. The chest on the right may still hold unclaimed loot.
